Frequently asked questions
Q: What is the policy if my child is absent and misses a lesson?
A: We only book 5 lessons per half term, so usually there will be an extra week where the teacher can come in and make up any missed lessons. 95 percent of the time we are able to replace missed lessons, but when we can't, we will discount your next invoice so you are not out of pocket.
Q: Can you explain how it works with the instrument at home? Can we rent it from you or do we need to purchase it?
A: It is a very good idea to have an instrument at home to practice on in between lessons. If you would like an instrument at home, please follow this link. You can then pick up the keyboard with accessories from school to take home, and use them for as long as you like.
Q: If at any point over the year we want our child to move over to a one-on-one session, is that something that can be done easily?
A: Absolutely, once you have informed us, they can move to stage 2 at anytime you like.
Q: Do you accept tax free childcare payments please?
A: Sorry, unfortunately not. Our music lessons are not eligible for this scheme.
Q: Will you confirm if my child has a place?
A: You will receive the full details, including the invoice before the start of term.
Q: Do you know which part of the day the lessons will take place?
A: The lessons will take place during the school day; the teacher will collect your child when it is time for their lesson.
Q: What details do you require?
A: Your phone number, your child’s name and their class.
Q: Is it better to have one-to-one or two-to-one lessons?
A: With a one-to-one lesson your child will receive individual attention from the tutor, but the two-to-one option is half the price as the time is shared. It’s really up to you what you choose - they both work well!
Q: How will my child remember to go to their lesson?
A: The teacher will collect your child from their class to have their lesson.
Q: Do we have to bring the instrument to school for their lesson?
A: We provide the instrument for the lessons in school and all enrolled pupils will have the option to get a starter instrument to take home for a deposit of £50.
Q: Are there any music books to buy in advance?
A: No, their starting music book will be provided.
